CHALLENGE
With hundreds of new connections to and from external parties, hundreds of new servers being put into production, and thousands of new external personnel accessing internal network resources every quarter, keeping track of all inter-network communications, authorization lists, protocols in use, and the management of risks associated to each user group, network, server, application, protocol, and policy was more than a team of security personnel could handle without the right tools.
SOLUTION
The SSO Electronic Connections Management System (ECMS) is a web based management system designed to facilitate the process for the fulfillment of connectivity requests, and the management of risks associated to electronic connections from one organization's network to branch offices and external parties. In this case, the ECMS was offered as a product (please see Products for more information) with SSO personnel providing the human services component (please see Services for more information).
